I concur. I once saw a photo a teen took of his girlfriend as a portrait for a photography class and he wanted feedback. It was b&w and had
"rose colored glasses" and how people want it to be, but the "darker reality" (sunglasses that dark would make it darker) of how things are.
So the idea that you literally have to "beat it into them, repeatedly" is exactly that. The glasses represent seeing the truth, not with...
It's a metaphor for someone who knows the truth and tries to convince those who believe lies and are too set in their ways who won't listen.
That fight scene is SO important to the entire central message of the movie. Many think it's campy and goes too long, it doesn't, it's more.
Love the composition and the post process too! :) As you can see, sharpness and perfect light is NOT always what's needed. Memories aren't.
If camera shot (not phone), I'll say f/1.8, ISO 800-1600, shutter @ 100 (due to d.o.f., lighting, lack of tack sharpness and graininess).
