Happened to me on my bunk bed once.
There are 2 documented cases of a cassowary killing a human, in the first case it was defending itself from 2 boys who decided to attack it with clubs, in the latter it was being kept as a "pet" in Florida, killing the 75-year-old owner after he fell. The vast majority of attacks come from cassowaries that have been fed and are expecting more food, or from those who are defending their nests. They aren't hyperviolent, Jurassic World, r/natureismetal monsters. They're animals.

Down the road from my old house, there was a row of spruce trees planted to keep a factory out of sight from the road. A large colony of turkey vultures would rest in those trees, several dozen at least. It was lovely seeing them all together when they would fly around the area.
