Also his band (The Basics) is still going strong I believe.

Exactly. This case is actually a very good one for appeal. The question of the underlying “in furtherance of” crime is something that never approached clear cut.

#16 This is one of the darkest and funniest things I’ve ever seen. Well done to the tweeter.

I half expected the last clip to be “I’m Batman.”

I have no idea what the correct usage of this meme is.

They are untroubled by inconsistency. They understand the purpose of what they are doing, and power is their goal. You cannot convince them are are wrong, because being right is not their concern. Projecting power is. And thus the only correct response is to amass and oppose them with greater power.

Now put it on the top. C’mon.

And you’d better believe there’s a lot of people trying to destroy them for this exact reason.

#22 Doable but takes until level 13 — two levels warlock, three sorcerer, six barbarian.

This is far enough away that it would count as Disneybounding — dressing in such a way as to suggest a character but not copy it. That’s permissible.

The comments are fine until you switch from “Top” to “Newest”.

I never understood why people thought YouTube was this awful hellsite; then my PS5 would show me the recommended videos outside my own algorithm. The most popular videos across the site. I get it now.

Eh. It doesn’t make it bad. It just means we expected better, rightfully so.

So… warm take: Saints Row 5 was fine. Not great but fine. There were some decent ideas in there, and the new setting had potential. And I say this as someone who’s played every SR game and liked all of them and *loved* 2 & 4. The problem was mostly character: None of the new Saints were memorable. And I mean, that was mostly true of Saints Row 1 as well — most of the best characters came in with 2! But we rightly expected more by now and they didn’t have a second shot.

Never catch a disease in a heartbeat. My hypochondria and Covid anxiety are rough. Knowing I’d be truly immune? I’d be able to just enjoy so much more life.

Legit thought she was about to hit her with the Styles Clash for a second there.

There’s a reason I’ve never gotten rid of mine. Remember: If it’s not physical property you don’t own it, you’re just licensing it.

My ex used to work with at risk youth and stopped someone self harming by singing to them. It’s absolutely a legit strategy.

(That said this is one of the more defensible police shootings in all likelihood. Just reminding us that you never have all the facts, and the guys who shot him are the source of the facts we have.)

Even here, never take the police at their word. The guy can be a fascist pile of trash and also be an undeserving victim of police brutality.

…The Social Network ends with Zuckerberg having torn down every friendship he’s ever had to create his fortune, before playing into one of the Beatles most sardonic hits “Baby You’re a Rich Man” that opens by dismissing the worth of wealth (“Now that you know who you are / What do you want to be?” firmly implies an ‘instead’ at the end.) Who on earth saw this as inspirational?

It is very likely bullshit. Note that the Wikipedia entry claims no such thing despite such a claim being definitely notable; nor could I find any papers related to recreating the cheese in Google Scholar.

#5 That is fair, it had been in the toilet. I’m sure he threw it away.
