Look it’s not that I disagree with the sentiment, but if you make a political post and tag it Aww I’m automatically downvoting it. Tag your things right.

Ok why is this tagged aww exactly?

My least favorite social media trend is people saying Breaking: like it’s some big news thing and then it’s just a take or opinion. It’s the click-bait enshitification of communication.

#23 people are bad at grammar

I just really don’t think this video about not tying moral and ethical absolutism to the color of people’s skin is a secret psy op to convert people. This video is 2:30 long and he mentioned Christianity in a positive light for like ten seconds. I think the reaction some people are having to him oversimplifying a complex issue has a lot more to do with their own triggers around religion than it does to the actual content of this clip.

I feel like ya’ll aren’t getting what the word promote means. Mentioning christian values as an underlying factor to the motivations of 19th century white British abolitionists isn’t the same thing as promoting.

I gotta be honest at no point did I feel like this video was promoting christianity. He was trying to sum up 1000 years of history in a two minute video to get to his point. A point that I think is largely true and a good one to make.

Look I know we all hate jkr here, but it is top tier kek to see the top comment on a dump that included a whole post on mindless YA novel drivel thinking that the whole point of the house elves is that slavery = good. The schools really have failed the children.

Like the barn swallow! Tuck a card, draw a card!

It’s bc the number they used was a percentage of a whole rather than a flat number. It sounds weird to say, “I want fewer of the journalists murdered to be women.” When presumably what they mean is they want fewer female journalists to be killed. It’s not a men v women post it’s a grammar post.

This smacks a lot more of, weird hill the client died on because they thought glass stairs would be cool, to me.

Choreographer is a more prestigious and high profile job than dancer. “Putting on the costume” is a step down for this guy.

The dancers are cool but I’m not a big fan of this edit tbh. I feel like they focused on all the wrong parts and had a weird tempo to the cuts that didn’t match the tempo of the dance at all.

The multiple decoys were the backup plan. Plan A was move him out early on a random date before the spell ended. But there was a “mole” so the enemy knew what day the random date was. If they had tried to do that with Harry just disguised as a muggle the death eaters would have known it was him since they had the date figured out and they would have just killed everyone in the car.

Gen X is no different from boomers as a generation. Boomers were the original disillusioned kids. They were, in fact, pretty famous for it. The only reason millennials are any different is bc they aren’t getting the same share of the wealth as they age. If they had more money, millennials would be just as conservative.

Look closer. See how this horse isn’t looking directly at you but slightly to your left, so you can only see its left eyeball? This is how horses normally look “at” you. But in the game screenshot it’s looking at you dead center and you can see both of its eyes. That’s what’s creating the uncanny effect.

The person who made this doesn’t really know California very well. The joke would work better if you drew the zones better.

I think you’re a good example of how someone can get a high grade in a class without actually learning the material well.

I think it’d be easy for most people to get a point off most pros. Even pro players will hit the ball into the net or over the line once in a full match. Tennis is probably the sport most likely for an amateur to score a point tbh.

Why is the background not moving? Is it flying in place?

As with most things in American politics, it mostly is due to money. Donors, particularly corporate donors, are much more easily convinced to donate to a candidate that has proven they can win. Add to that the name recognition factor for an incumbent and it means Biden will be able to out fundraise any other choice by a large margin. Presidential campaigns are sickeningly expensive so that becomes the bottom line.

Unfortunately it’s because he is the sitting president. Incumbents have a big advantage in US politics especially presidents. I can’t think of a single time in modern history where the incumbent president chose to run for a second term but lost the nomination to a challenger. So basically the only way the party would put someone else up is if Biden said he didn’t want to run again.

“Being ok with paying a horrid price” and “being ok with genocide” are the same thing. The horrid price they’re paying to be the last ones standing is killing all the civilians on the other side indiscriminately. Including doctors, and journalists, and international aid workers. That’s what a genocide is, when you murder all the civilian population of a group because you don’t want to tolerate their existence anymore.

Or why so many want a pat on the back for doing the bare minimum of having civility.

I hate that “peaceful” quote every time I see it. I’ll never understand why so many people feel the need to glorify violence.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would think a theatre person would know that. ;p

They’re the same word. Just British and American spellings. The British spelling is based off French where -re is a more common ending.

One is basically a latte but with more foam than milk, the other is a shot with a single dollop of foam. They’re almost opposite drinks.
