How many stone does the stones weigh?
I don't know how i works where you live, but about a handfull of days every year the electricity prices go negative where i live, and I pay to deliver electricity to the grid from my solar panels. If i were home when it happens i could charge my ev, or do laundry or whatever, but it usually happens when i'm at work. I could also shut down the inverter, but I did the math once and concluded it wasn't worth stressing about.

That's what I thought when I saw the movie. It only has value if they only use a tiny fraction of it, otherwise it's worthless.
I don't know how it is described in the book, but in the movie Smaug is sleeping completely covered in gold, in a hall at least 50m wide, and the pile is at least as tall, with a 45° slope. So assuming the floor is flat, and the gold is piled up in one end of the hall that would be around 62500m3, so 78 trillion$?
How does one clean up after this? I am imagining a long line of steel but, I guess it isn't
It has been renovated once before I got it, and I have been fixing rust in it after that. And in the 7 years I have had it, it has only been driven when the weather is nice. So 1-2k km a year.
As an electronics engineer I love my 48year old car, almost no electronics to go bad, only the ignition.
