As an American who lives in Europe and just had a baby, I highly recommend. But moving to Europe without an EU passport or partner is not easy.

Love book recommendations. Put on hold on my Libby app. Also, if people don’t have the Libby app, get it.

Agree. Lived and taught there for 8 years, and while there’s a lot more pressure on students academically, which translates to very little free time and slightly less self expression than western counterparts, they’re still kids and they still have personalities.

Agree. But man they really seemed to be siding with the Chinese tourists.

Yeah, this is like top of so many travel blogs, so my husband and I went, but I cannot say I recommend it. Definitely wouldn’t do it again.

It’s a complete pain in the ass and each state is different. I had to vote absentee from China in the last election and it sucked. Google your state + absentee voting. Some states are super easy, but Pennsylvania isn’t one of them. Your local embassy or consulate is also a good place to look. My nearest consulate collects mail-in ballots and ships them for us normally, but couldn’t because of COVID in the last presidential election.

I agree, but welfare is such a nuanced issue. There are plenty of people who are on it who don’t have to be, but there are also plenty of people who needed to be on it and then can’t get off of it or are too scared to get off of it because of how the system works. So it would just be a better song if that wasn’t in there. But it is also so genuine and heartfelt, so that’s a shame.

Wow, #21 is actually my hometown. Hershey Pennsylvania. Hence the Hershey kiss shaped lights.
