in many people, and usually not the ones who could actually benefit from it. Anyway, thank you to anyone who keeps hanging in there, and is open to learning and growing despite the social hostility.

I hope one day we can all move past harshly judging people based on arbitrary traits beyond our control. If you have a little spare time you could look into volunteering at animal sanctuaries and rehabs near you, they get owls all the time due to car strikes and such, and you could get some neat close up interactions and help them out as well, win-win.

got an effin birds calendar last year, one of those you tear off each day, higjly recommended
Normally a barn owl like this wouldnt let anyone get so close or would be hissing and screeching at anyone who attempted to, so car strike is the likely situation here
Car strikes are a very common cause of owl injury and death, so yes very likely. Not only do they get hit by cars often, but sometimes they just fly into sides of cars on their own. That appears to be a barn owl, btw. Looks like it might have injured its right eye, hopefully nothing permanent. Thank you for stopping to check on it, and attempting to contact the right people!
