I'm a 30 year old Australian who lives in the desert of Western Australia, in a large mining town called Kalgoorlie. We have the third biggest open cut mine in the world... Like, right next to town. It's quite bizarre. I am qualified to be an accountant, which I don't do. Instead I became a teacher, and now I teach kids from 5 to 12 to use computers. I love this job immensely. I have a 7 year old step-daughter who I've been raising since she was 18 months, and I have a 3 year old son. They're both crazy energetic and pretty great. My partner let me name our son Tyler, and my last name is really close to Durden... This makes me irrationally pleased. "It's an exciting thing, this one meaningless life of yours ... good luck" - Tim Minchin -------------------------------------------------------- Why was Tyler Durden building an army? In Tyler we trusted. This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time. Someday you will die, until you know this, you are useless. We have to face the reality that maybe God doesn't like us. He never wanted us. In all probability, he HATES us. I want you to know; not fear; KNOW, that someday you're gonna die. -------------------------------------------------------- This is me in my traditional Australian garb: http://i.imgur.com/qrXV2a9.jpg

Pro-tip to anyone who breaks the metacarpal bone in their thumb - keep it still when the 'k-wires' (pins) are in it. The difference is going from the tiny green scars to the red scar.

Couldn't find a pic of these lines from "Delivery Man" (probably because it's a mediocre film), but it feels too relateable to not exist.

My school is currently being dragged through the mud, and teachers are dropping like flies - this scene came to mind. Ours was mental health, not allergy, but still. Nothing has changed; if anything, it's gotten worse.
