I'd like to humbly request the source link, or a name for #2.

I wish I could believe in what you said, but there were several cases of positions exactly fitting that description that were fired last year such as the CFPB that *are* protected by the law yet Trump fired them anyway and the supreme court just decided that the law did not apply to our president. I fail to see how this is functionally different.

No, not everyone is like you. Without them we'd not have a society.

You're wrong.

Because it's 200 dollars, not dollars 200. It makes sense.

How would we stop paying taxes exactly?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I keep seeing that suggestion, and i keep pulling my hair at it. How would it work? Tax revenue is collected at the individual paycheck. How would any state prevent this from happening? Pass a law to forbid it? How would this impact the multi-state companies that are a majority of the revenue?

On the opposite side, I'm working in a job I have fun in while having a wife and a toddler. And steam just informed me that I spent 80 hours in the last two weeks playing a delightful indie game. I'm sure i'm not in the majority, but know living the best life is still possible!

I'm feeling like I'm working on another planet sometimes because while my company is following suit on the "doing stuff with AI", it's completely optional for software devs and you actually have to be interested to request access to copilot because licences cost $$$. Most of the directives we've had from the tech management is stuff like "it'll make it quicker to do stuff you have to do but don't wanna like write 500 unit tests or documentation", which is mostly true.

This is funny to me as a person working in a large ed tech company (which I won't be naming for obvious reasons) because not only the folks that write the content are very anti ai, but any error in the content or the tooling that gets reported to us gets fixed in a couple days, a week max in the busiest season of the year. How this college ignores this is beyond me.

Honestly some divorces can happen to two good people because the spark just isn't there anymore (and it could be that they found someone else). Those can perfectly be amicable separations where both parties continue to be friend and care for each other.

Strong political change rarely comes without violence my guy. History is littered with it, and unfortunately is also littered with people that got away. I understand how you feel, but you have to realize that the divide in american politics has been getting steadily worse. You got it right, the democratic party used to take the high road, but the high road has disappeared on them because Trump yanked it and I can't blame the left for radicalizing hard.

Birds of a feather it seems. Thank you for your service fellow imgurian.

This is not going to change anyone's mind. We're way past this shit.

This has been said before, but like, how would this even work? Federal withholding can hardly be stopped, especially for any company that's doing business in multiple states, which is... The majority of them

Aside from the meme, i'm not a structural engineer but I assume this would be true if you were to push down on the crest of the wave, but you would not get the same strength by pushing upwards from the inside of a wave. So... a wall that's conditionally as sturdy by using marginally less bricks doesn't seem very interesting.

@SursieMetzger I have similar thyroid problems, although mine still works but i'm very familiar with the RLS on your entire body and the sleeplessness. If you still experience symptoms after being medicated, I recommend looking into low dosage pramipexole - my neurologist suggested it to me after some severe insomnia and it literally shut off all symptoms almost instantly. It's got some side effects but absolutely worth it if RLS is killing you like it did me

It's not particularly surprising. There is a large proportion of people who tends to not question too much the sources of information they use after they've been deemed trustworthy, and gnostics by nature tend to question less. They've been conditioned by their media, family and general environment and it's hard to break from that conditioning.

It worked for me when I was a kid, and now, as a father of a little girl that will enter school soon, how to not be a bully and how to respond to bullying with incredible violence will be my first lesson.
