Here's a fresh take: both sides are behaving like sub-human monsters. Hamas (with the overwhelming support or indifference by a majority of Palestinians) are murders, rapists, and terrororists. Israel is an occupying force, repeatedly displacing Palestinians, and continuing to encroach on what little lands of their remains, through murder, rape and terror, but also conventional war like bombing and tanks. There are genocidal racists on both sides, unwilling to compromise. They're both fucked.
