I agree they should tie the tax structure to income inequality and make it more progressive. But they doesn’t change the fact that the burden of the young paying money to retirees is going to continue to become worse. It’s more than the issue of insolvency that we hear about a lot because the government can always create greater streams of rev thru taxes but it’s a whole demographic crisis. You should check out a geopoliticist named Peter Zeihan. He highlights a lot of these issues.
I guess we will see if trumps popularity has changed. I don’t doubt trump supporters are pretty stubborn. But I don’t think people should be treated like they’re evil for the political opinions, unless they’re much more egregious. Are you trying to say that people that are anti trump are a marginalized group though? Because come on. Most voters voted for Biden last election purely because they hated trump.

There are better posts 4 sure. The issue w/ it is that people are making others feel bad 4 having a different opinion. So they leave the platform. I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about except for the forcing people to have children part. And I’m not a fan of that either.
Everything will be a war if enough people treat it like one. Understanding and compassion is deserved on both sides.
SS does really need reform because every gen there are less people having kids and people are living longer. So it requires that workers fund more retirees as time goes on. This is a big part of why millennials and gen z are facing harsher economic outcomes than gen x and boomers. And HRT means hormone replacement therapy. Essentially for kids to transition to a different gender.
Obama did get us out of the Iraq war in like 2011 or 2012 and then got us back in 2014 to fight isis. During trumps presidency isis was defeated and he pulled out of the Iraq war despite most republicans telling him no. Also him being anti nato is another example of him being anti war. With all of the things needing funding domestically, funding a war in Europe is a bad decision. Why are we in a defense pact with a whole continent of countries that have small, bad militaries relatively?
How is he antiwar when he got us out of the Iraq war and half of democrats in congress got us in it? Let me preface this by saying I know conservatives have a ton of dumb policies they push. But liberals are also dogmatic and unconcerned with the data. Just to name a few things they’ve fought for: defund the police, not reforming social security so that the young are less burdened with it, advocating for higher gov spending for future gens to deal with, and advocating for the right 2 HRT 4 kids
If you’re in an area that’s full of trump supporters, then how in your world is them being bad common knowledge? I’m not saying you have to tolerate them, just don’t be condescending asshole and actually argue against their points. Your approach is just doing more harm than good.

I definitely think you’re right in the sense that, they stubbornly put their ideology ahead of what will actually improve American people’s lives. But a huge concession was made by conservatives for voting for Trump who has arguably been more anti war than the Democratic establishment.
