In the majority of states you give your name and address at the polling place so they can check you off, and that's about it. Like, the real ways people mess with elections aren't by casting someone else's ballot, that's incredibly impractical in all but the smallest elections. In the real world, it's mostly making it harder to vote, which is what voter ID laws and the save act are designed to do, they create a poll tax without calling it that.
As with a lot stupid bullshit in this country, that's the direct result of the whims of long dead dipshits, which has become so ingrained in how we do things that everyone has decided its holy writ. Like, it made sense for farmers who had to travel and wouldn't go anywhere on a Sunday because they were religious fanatics, but now we can't change that because something, something "the founding fathers" (ignoring, of course that it didn't start until the 1840's).
No, no, just regular slavery, as was never actually outlawed by the 13th amendment. (The 13th amendment explicitly allows slavery as punishment, cause this country couldn't just get rid of its horrifying bullshit)
Because that's not how this attack works. There's no info being exchanged here, its effectively a very precise timing attack that induces a drop on a specific internal rail at a particular moment, causing the chip to "skip" over the security code. You couldn't use it for PLC because the Xbox has no hardware for that, there's no data being transferred by the glitch itself, the glitch just makes it possible to boot unsigned code.
Yeah, it's a voltage glitching attack, basically dropping the voltage out at just the right time to skip the security section of the ROM, it requires access to the mainboard itself.
Nah, it let's them skirt emissions regulations, because they were written really badly. It's entirely possible to make a vehicle that can tow and still has crumple zones without making the absurd nonsense that is modern US trucks, but a lot of US regs were written such that automakers can spend less making the engines if they make the vehicles bigger.
Nice!
Radeon should just be in the kernel by default, (I'm running a 7900xtx), but a 9050 might be so new that it wasn't in the kernel if you installed 22.1, you might need to try a version update to 22.3.
What graphics card do you have? If it's nvidia, you might need to check the drivers, cause even the new open source one's not a part of the linux kernel yet, and while nouveau (the inbuilt driver) will get you a screen just fine, it sucks for gaming. On mint you would change that in driver manager. I've been running games on linux for a long time, setup right, they usually get better framerates compared to windows.
It's not even that, it was very explicitly an attempt to demonize the anti-war and civil rights movements in the 70's. Like, one of Nixon's advisors directly stated that in an interview. Lawmakers give a lot less of a shit about taxes than people think they do, modern governments don't actually run on tax dollars (taxes are effectively inflation control in modern economics), so it's not like bringing in more taxes actually benefits them.
Yeah, it sucks, cause it genuinely scores well on a lot of privacy tests, but has a lot of weird connections. Like, the Theil one by itself wouldn't be that big of a thing (they got some investment from one of his VC funds that invests in startups, but it was one of several) but toss in the weird crypto stuff and Brendan Eich, and it starts to be a bit concerning.
Brave is also directly funded by one of Peter Theil's orgs, was created by a guy run out of Mozilla for bigotry, and has a bunch of weird monetization stuff going on with it, just FYI.
That's exactly what I recommend when people ask me, imo its the best one right now for people looking for a solid general-purpose distro. (Used to be Ubuntu, but they ruined that with snaps)
Not the first, not by a long shot. Both Washington and Jefferson *absolutely* did that shit too. Hell, Jefferson brought his 14 year old victim with him so many places that even people at the time thought it was weird.
What you're missing is that what the US just did *is* a 9/11. The situation has gone from "two nations that openly hate each other but only really spend their time posturing" to "a day that will live in infamy". Like, this shit was a totally unprovoked strike on largely civilian targets (thanks Claude), which tends to galvanize people. And while Americans as a whole wildly overestimate their chances of being attacked (US military propaganda is effective), the chances do go up when you bomb kids.
State jobs in a blue state. Healthcare covers everything (plus no having to deal with the va) and the pension's pretty good.
The Iran strikes hit a girls middle school, killing 85.
This is cause he actually got arrested (on his birthday, which just makes it funnier). Will anything actually happen to him? Probably not, he's wealthy, but its more than any of our Quisling dipshits have done.
Wouldn't surprise me, though a lot of US Pols seem to just enjoy fucking with Cuba for the love of the game. Like, the reason Cuba has the biotech capability it does is because not only does the US forbid all US companies *and their foreign subsidiaries* from exporting to Cuba, you also can't dock any ship that has docked in Cuba in the US for 6 months.
Also, when they do talk about trans guys they become "poor girls" who are "tricked", because in their bullshit nonsense world, women can never have agency, and they view trans men as women. Half the reason these dipshits hate us transfems so much is because they inherently view all women as inferior, mere objects for them to use and abuse as they see fit, and they don't understand why someone might want to be this type of person they consider "lesser".
Exactly. It would take approximately 30% of the world's current production capacity to provide every single human on earth with a high quality of life, but instead everything is focused around the whims of a handful of the most sociopathic assholes to ever exist.
Difference there is owner vs employee, do you give enough of a shit about the profits of a store which is probably owned by someone in the Epstein files, and is insured anyway, to die for it?
Honestly, Dolph Dolph Dolph Dolph Dolph, Dolph Lundgren the science curmudgeon both works and kinda goes hard. Now I kinda want a show where grouchy Dolph Lundgren teaches burnt out college kids advanced science topics begrudgingly.
Yeah, UCLA is the the University of California Los Angeles. I'd assume what happened here is that he got into an experimental trial for the new procedure they're talking about, which is really more dependent on luck and timing than anything else. (Money doesn't hurt, given the shithole that is the US health industry, but to get into a study like that requires that you get something they're studying, while they're actively seeking participants, and that you are within the study parameters)
In the immortal words of George Carlin "They want live babies so they can raise 'em to be dead soldiers"
It was even better, he not only hadn't been paid, they kept getting *him* to pay for stuff. Like, he had his wife sending money for food for the unit he was in, and buying truly garbage tier equipment. The only ones to feel bad for in that situation were the kids and the dog.
Also, as someone who grew up in both CO and the northeast, there are *wildly* different types of snow. Like, the powdery stuff we got up in the Rockies (you didn't happen to go to school in an old silver mining town, by chance) behaves entirely differently than the dense wet stuff in New England. A couple inches of NE snow makes the roads a skating rink in a way CO snow just doesn't, and by the same token, that road may look clear, but is likely untreated, and is probably right at freezing.
Cause Trump has been a uniting force for all of the worst fucking people, but those people don't normally get along. Like, JD Vance is a Catholic, that's *immediately* disqualifying for a huge number of evangelicals who straight up don't believe Catholics are Christians (I've literally heard them respond to "are you Catholic?" With "no I'm a christian"). Hell many of them believe Catholics are *satanic*. And that's just one fracture point, the movement is being held together by the grift.
Thing is, they all hate Vance, and each other. One of the things that has never really happened with Donnie is creating an "official successor", which is what authoritarians need to keep power, and keep the grift running. Look at North Korea for example, they prep for years pushing the next Kim as the heir apparent, readying the transition of power. The magas haven't done that, there's no heir, so the entire movement will very likely fracture, war of the roses style.
