No, I did mean Short Takeoff and Landing. I haven't seen the full-scale carrier in a while but I'm not sure it has space for full runs.
Quinjets would also need to make a rolling landing if they had an engine out or were overloaded, too. Hovering takes a lot of effort.
You still need some kind of flat surface to land on. Might as well make it work for STOL aircraft too.
