Its not just that, I suspect the guy running the shop dose not want charity. This way he can keep his dignity as well as being rapidly freed of obligation.Also, I don't disagree with the first point, work should be as optional as possible. If your family need you then you should be able to be their for them.

Is it normal to have a group chat with direct co-workers? I never had this happen, all conversations where 1 on 1. Not that we didn't like each other or anything? Maybe its just me, I might give off a no group chat vibe.
