2/7- Silver Fork, BCC, UT8. Iron mining relic, possible vehicle strut or cross arm (IDK). Rock is overburden, dolomite or limestone I believe BCC, UT.9. More Augens (Chert nodules/lenses) same locale as 7.10. 9. Different angle.11. Same as 9&10.12. Unknown chalky and soft. Left where it was found, BCC, UT.13. 12 again.14. Stratified rock, Silver Fork, UT.15. 14 alternate angle.16. Boulder of Volcanic Tuff at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Yellowstone NP17. 16 again.
Description of photos 1. Galena and Sphalerite ore from old mine near Salt Lake. 2.Marcasite (iron Pyrite’s cousin) and Galena from same locale as .1 (Lark Mine, Bingham Canyon District)3. Galena and Pyrite from Big Cottonwood Canyon, UT.4. Same sample as 3, also Arsenopyrite.5. Malachite and Minor Azurite from Big Cottonwood Canyon (BCC), UT.6. Right! Found those up Silver Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon Near Salt Lake City.
2/2 Different sedimentary and metamorphic rock formations from around Northern Utah and a few rocks and geological features from a recent trip to Yellowstone NP.
No yeah that makes sense. Duh. I’ll comment a list soon. Most are specimens I’ve bought from other collectors. Several ore samples from historic mining locals in Utah (USA).
