I got an outline of my girl's ears tattooed as an alternative. I love looking at her derpy little ears on my ankle and carrying them with me.

I use canned dog food! The pate kind works great and it's easy to manage diet/allergies.
There are complete vegetarian dog diets out there, but they're intended for doggos with a myriad of protein allergies.
