I don't think it is, but it certainly is similar.

Macabre, but beautiful.

Damn, my heart goes out to all you Kiwis. Kaikoura's such a great town, kills me to see all the damage there and elsewhere.

Low CO2 first makes animals sleepy, up dosage once unconscious. Inhumane when full dose used first, causes painful mucosal tissue bleeds.

Some creepy guys do it to get away with touching women's legs. Source: I'm a frequent flier and creeps like this are more common than I like

Be sure to donate to local shelters, not national HSUS or ASPCA. Those are lobbying machines with <2% of donations going to animals.

I wonder if American sensitivity to cultural appropriation has to do with centuries of mistreatment of Native Americans by "colonizers?"

It's also gynadromorphic. One side is female, the other male. I wonder if it sings?

A wood stork delivering a hardwood-disseminated product, classic.

Yes, as an alumni of Cornell, suicide rate in architecture & engineering students quite high. Two gorges on campus, makes suicide easy.

No-kill have no choice but to refuse if full. Cats get it worse.. no-kill neuters and dumps cats into streets via failed TNR programs.

I agree. No-kill shelters turn away animals once full, resulting in animal dumping. Euthanasia is better than suffering on streets.

Like StrangeBard said, read Dune. You won't regret it. Nearly 1000 pages of one of the most iconic scifi stories out there.

Spaying and neutering and simply feeding inside would've kept this kitten from freezing to near death?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly, this is a common fate for feral and abandoned cats. Spay and neuter your cats and keep your cats indoors, folks.

True, but operators need to take some seriously. "Ordering pizza" to a 911 operator is signaling for help when someone can overhear.

It's a simple recessive trait called piebaldism. The animal will look this way for its entire life. I have two of these. :-)

It's a savanna monitor. Tegus have extremely large lip scales and zebra stripes.

Normally the titanium vanes are spinning so fast they are invisible in photos. You can see the vanes here, so they're not free spinning.

Engine looks shut down (can see vanes). Debris could've gotten in. This is why these planes can fly with 1 engine, redundancy is life saving

Alternatives are available, the problem is that not all insurance companies will cover them.

The squirrels one isn't always true. Squirrels will *steal* the babies of others as a dominance display. Captive rats do this too.

Horse meat is also delicious even if taboo in North America. It's all about culture.

*Improperly sited wind turbines are a blight on the landscape and environmentally harmful. Even renewables need regulation to prevent abuse.

For clarity, 1 hr in class = 1 credit hour. 12 credits = ~36 hrs of work a week = full time = why students qualify for gov't funding in USA

Weekly hour load = 2 hrs outside class for every 1 hr in class. 12 credits + 24 outside time = 36 hrs = full time student = ~40 hr work week

Get yourself tested for toxoplasmosis, seriously. If you ever have a compromised immune system, this is critical to know.

Not sure what you're talking about, pretty much all of Florida is a pyric system meant to burn (e.g. oak scrub, longleaf, prairie, etc.).

The Escaflowne TV series (Japanese subtitles) is better than The Vision of Escaflowne, which was the movie. Surprisingly deep themes.
