It's hard to actually understand what it's like driving one of these without actually driving one. It's not like a car in any way.
Only think that can be done is someone pull along-side the cab and flag him down, which someone eventually does (rather than just record it)
You can't hear honking over the engine, believe me. Especially with the car that far back (keep in mind it's a draw-bar)

Take into consideration that guy can't see too well in that costume and it's better for him to play it safe and protect the kid.
Makes me glad I live in a country where this isn't normal. There's something really weird about America, not sure why though

I didn't like it when it came out, but rewatched it recently and actually liked it. Go into it with very low expectations and it's decent :)
