You get what you pay for

God it's got to suck to adopt a dog and be called a monster by people who make silly assumptions like this

Yep you're more likely to crash 1.5 yrs into riding than as a fresh noob. Thats when you start getting overly confident and do dumb things

Better to replace your rims than end up a vegetable or dead

This is just all sorts of stupid on both parts.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well I say that but I also look where I'm going and give myself plenty of room for the unexpected. I just dont get how this happens

"Close enough" is a relative term. All weaving is just changing lanes but legal definitions are written for car use

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No but you can weave by leaving yourself enough room to account for if a car tries to cut you off or do something stupid.

I've lost count of the # times I've been almost side-swiped by cars but I'm always prepared for it. I treat everyone as a potential jackass

I drive both and am well aware of the limitations/capabilities of each. You accept a lot more risk as a biker and be aware of bad drivers

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Statistically speaking, it's riskier to be a biker stopped at a red light than weaving through highway traffic. Bikes are dangerous

to each his own I guess. I prefer to keep my guns and my freedom thank you ?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well yeah don't do it stupidly ;P Cars are big and slow, bikes are small and agile. Apples/oranges

I ride a 300 and don't weave through traffic unless theres a lot of space between cars, because you never know.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That being said you need to be aware of your own skills as a rider and have a fast enough bike. Big difference between a 250 and 1000cc bike

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes the biker is aware of that. Thing is it's a lot easier than you think and most bikes can pass faster than car drivers can react

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

To be fair, maneuvering a bike is way easier and you have crazy fast acceleration so it's safer than you think. Not all weavers are squids

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yea it looks a lot more unsafe than it is when you imagine what your car is capable of and assume it's the same for bikes.

As a motorcyclist I stay the F away from semis. If you see me zooming past you it's cause I know you can't see me.

But you have "free" healthcare. Worth it, right?

Water beats all!

Every time someone has to point this out to me I die a little inside

Millions. They kill millions every year

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They do

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. That being said, local tax levies so students can each have personal laptops is f'ing ridiculous. Money should be spent wisely.

I watched someone snowboarding down my street. They had a rope around their waist attached till the car driving in front of them ?

Your avg person thinks a jalapeno is hot and thats only 8k scoville. Carolina reapers: over 2 million and literally send ppl to the hospital

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Time to end their suffering and put them down humanely ;)

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Agreed. That's why I buy local directly from the farmers. More expensive sure, but also healthier

Who says Chloe was in pain? It's better to have existed for any amount of time than to never have existed at all, right?
