Our planet isn't crowded though. There are cities and regions with overcrowding, but on the whole the planet itself is vastly uninhabited because people generally either choose to live in areas with infrastructure and opportunities, or they at least don't want to go live in the middle of nowhere. This wouldn't change if we had the means to live on other planets with even lower populations.
