Instead of making these people sleepy or chill, they make them cray-cray: hyper, wide awake, & like a squirrel on crack, basically.

I'd say that's true for most people, but night shift was awesome for me, a natural "night owl." My family just hated it.

Gracious, yes! Goddamned evil bloodsucking bitches are super-bad here in SC right now! The mild winter=steroids for them.
As someone who lives in South Carolina, I hope you're putting something in that water to deter mosquitoes. Bloodsucking little bitches!
My supa-dupa-poopa is spoiled very responsibly. He gets tons of walking/jogging exercise with me, as well as tons of toys, chewies, etc.
