They have pros and cons. If you're only printing PLA stick to PTFE lined. Temps above 240 require All Metal to avoid toxic vapours from PTFE
There is a lot of slop in the factory rod. I replaced mine with a straight one and got an anti-backlash nut.
You would need a printer with multiple extruders or an extra device like a Palette or Prusa MMU.
The new batches of printers all have subpar extruders from the factory so everyone replaces them. Mine was good, just wanted better.
