I'm poor, and It can be really, really cheap. If it's something dirt simple and you don't need it within the week, chances are you can get it there for less than half of where you could anywhere else.

Its just a comment, I'm not writing for academia or anything. That said, I'd say anecdotal evidence is still better than an empty statement like 'people think'.
You didn't have a dedicated history teacher/department? Ours was almost as large as the English department, it was a public school too.
I don't know a single person that thinks we were welcomed with open arms when we settled. I was taught some local customs and how they used to live over a decade ago, and as a preschool teacher we included their stories and myths, along with a bunch of other cultures that attended the kindy in equal measure. How much more of their 'history' can we teach when there were no major developments for such a length of time, and no records outside of the spoken tales we are already passing on?

Oh no! 1 (one) singular actor in the film is an idiot! That retroactively makes the whole film terrible and unable to be enjoyed :((((((

I mean, 'Over hyped pattern recognition' is also a pretty good description of the human race...Call it AI or 'AI', the last year or so has been huge in what it's capable of as well as accessibility. My DM uses it to not only make art for all characters/items/places, but also makes all of it in a uniform style. A friend was using it to quickly write cover letters while job hunting, and I've been using it to quickly read and then summarize scholarly stuff to check for relevancy.
