Assuming you're talking about the mac pro and not the macbook pro.
The mac pro is outdated and isn't a fair comparison. Apple doesn't lower their prices. You'd have to compare PCs from 2013 with the mac pro.

Well, I used Ubuntu on a server. It worked perfectly there, couldn't have asked for a better OS. There was no GUI.
What do you use that's so mindbogglingly different?
Well, yea actually. But the GUI isn't really the thing i use the most. Bash is on both. 90% of my time is spent i bash and web browsers
