I think this is a really Shnitty outcome.. that said NONE of the other social media platform have to moderate their user content in this CURRENT time. Bearing the costs of fact checkers and controlling content was relevant one and two election cycles ago. If none other are dong this why should they? This is good for J Q Public in the end anyways as it forces us to stop living with some belief that social media platforms have any basis of reality.
I wanted to add that my WTF response was for the human carnage pure and simple. It was not about rightness or wrongness of state or religion - even though any discussion on these events can’t help but draw those aspects in.
I am so conflicted about Imgur and like platforms sharing info like this. The “WTF!!!” moment s lulled into desensitization with the following rhm, doggo, and goofy posts. Is social media slowly making me apathetic……
I think that in one regard the statement is true. The reality is that this is not a real free market with all the controls, loopholes, and governments of the self interested. But I understand the sentiment and context.
Say what you want about Mr sunshine, it was your fellow countrymen that elected him……..
