I now make less money per year than I paid to go to school. Whee!
I'm jealous of 30k "... $48,093 without financial aid. With room, board, and other fees combined, total cost of attendance is $67,751."
Minimum wage is more like $7-$8 most of the US. I made about $19 as a computer programmer.

1:1 or 1 in 2.
and you can compute one from the other. If you have stated that the probability is 50/50, then you have implied that odds are >
Yeah. I'm a math PhD. I said they are two ways of describing the same number and they are. Odds and probability are mathematically related >
So, yes. I'd hope it's just a terminology issue and that they don't believe it's 50% chance to win. But it's still correct in the post.
there are two outcomes, because the number of outcomes doesn't really mean anything here. 3/3
equally likely to win or lose. That's what probability means. There isn't really a term for referring to something as 50/50 because 2/3
There's not. Probability and odds are just two ways of writing the same number. If you say the probability is 50/50 you mean that it's 1/3
This is the exact mistake mentioned... If it's one in 292 million the probability is 0.00000000342465753... 50/50 is a simplification of 0.5

If you're lucky...
"Being is about driving a German car to an Irish pub for a British Belgian beer..."
But my main point was that a lot of people were just throwing out generic criticisms without actually knowing anything. Maybe 1/2 valid.
Having seen the full code/context, I do agree more with the complaints. I was perhaps erring too much on the side of the coder.
Ha. Fair enough. I can only excuse it so far, but I prefer the criticism at least be correct... Apparently that's unpopular though.
They aren't? Most of the inner if blocks were condensed onto the same line as the if statements, and the elses are nested.
impossible to really comment other than linking to the equation?
Yeah... I was going to write a big post about how if you wanted to implement like the solution to a fourth degree polynomial it would >
