Even Sarah Conner accepted that the terminator was the only man who'd measure up as a father, even John Connor accepted the idea that if a machine could learn the value of human life than maybe we could to. At a certain point, if Data's poetry is good, we have to be able to accept that not all machine derived content will be terrible. AI is a tool in its infancy, being created my humans with poor vision and obsession, sure, but it's going to get better, and we might as well make peace with that.

On the other hand non-emergency medical procedures can take over a year to be scheduled, and almost all extracurricular programs have been cut from schools. Housing crises and cost of living is getting out of control, while employment rates and mass layoffs occurring. It's not a terrible hellscape, but it's far from ideal too.

Heh nothing like a good cry first thing in the morning. Pour one out for my homies, we're all in this together

I know it's not the same, just as you said, but I'm still going to imagine you in my arms as we just exist in each other's comfort. You'll probably live long, and perhaps suffer for it, but you reached out, and the ripples of it reached me if no one else, and I value it. Be well random person ๐Ÿ˜˜

It often doesn't hit as hard, because a lot of men are anti-gay, but even if you're a man, compliment other men. Compliment their apparel or style, their apparent skills or talents... actually, try to learn the art of compliment and offer it freely. Children and elderly are often overlooked, service people, homeless. We're all human, and we all crave validation. You - specifically you - I like your smile, whenever I see it, it brightens my whole day

#19 if you respect agency you'll not fight them for their right to leave. I don't want to coerce you to stay... I only want you if you want to be here

#17 any preferred techniques out there? Mine is hot wet facecloth. I'll do the initial pass, then get you a second one for personal preference.

First of all mom bods are hot, unrealistic body standards are lame. Secondly I never got praise just for spending time with my kids, nor did I ever perceive moms doing it any less difficult or valuable... is this a thing? Third parenting is definitely a mixed bag of the most fulfilling thing you can do while also being the most soul crushingly difficult... good job moms (and dads) you're doing great!

#37 not disputing it, but on the other hand society is broken anyways. Leave the cart or not. It doesn't matter. Let a kid return it for the coin. Make someone labor for a wage to return it. Cart your groceries home and abandon the cart in an alley. Or walk a few seconds and put it back. Or leave it next to your car for the guy waiting to pull in once you leave. It's just a cart, and what you do with it doesn't describe you any more than any other arbitrary test of compliance to imaginary tenets

Yeah, the Sisyphean dystopia of late stage capitalism is no joke. I'm sorry engaging with it is making you feel terrible. The fact that you have incredible value, but that it isn't marketable or profitable in our society is a travesty. I hope you feel better soon...

If you're into d&d and have a d&d coworker, you basically have up to 8 hour brainstorming and worldbuilding sessions. It's great!

As one such, we may have conditioned ourselves to feel shame that (all) we want from a woman is (sexual) attention when that seems repugnant. Gotta crack through that outer shell with the most direct ask of "hey, you wanna do this? (Sexy thing)" Then the flood gates open. Then the cuddles. Then the crying on the chest. Then the "real" them which is usually stunted and obnoxious. Then, maybe, a better version of the real them which is a little more balanced... us neurodivergents can be fun!

I mean, if the opportunity exists still be their friend... friendships are easily as valuable as lovers. And just like consent today doesn't mean consent forever, neither does no today mean no forever.

If someone had the same idea, but used AI to generate it, it would be "slop"

As someone who uses AI as a tool, but still puts time into the process, it's tiresome to see people just say AI = Slop. I don't have the patience nor aptitude to learn modern coding, AI has bridged the gap to where I feel my ideas can come to life. Same for painting, writing, etc. AI is a convenience tool, and a lot of people will misuse it, but for noobs it makes it possible to do things outside their typical skillset, and I think that's a good thing.

All art is derivative, this is no different. A million people painting under the tutelage of Bob Ross, or any other instructor, doesn't mean you're pushing the boundary of the medium. You're merely mimicking their process to get varying quality of results. AI is just taking millions of more versions of millions of both instructors as well as students work, and finding reproducible patterns. It's data processing, but so are neurons. It's different than us, sure, but still along the same lines
