Thanks for the concern! He has actually been issued a design patent :)

Website is in progress, pending the name.

Would we need to supply you with a poop knife?

The rare earth magnets that he is using have an extremely quick fall off. I've had electronics nearby (not in direct contact) without issue

The patent is not pending, it is issued and defendable.

Exactly! Or if you commuted via bike regularly and needed a ride some times.

Yeah absolutely! There are lots of applications for this. He has mentioned versions for kayaks in the future too.

The bike seat is the only part of the bike that contacts the car. Josh designed it to prevent scratching.

The magnets do not attach the bike to the rack, they attach the rack to the car (which is metal). Straps attach the bike to the rack.

haha! This is amazing

I really appreciate your feedback. I'll make sure it gets back to Josh

The straps will be plastic, not terribly difficult to cut. The magnets themselves can be pulled off fairly easily given the correct angle

It's extremely easily removed. It is not intended to be a security device. We will be considering theft at some point in the prototyping stage

Carbon fiber bikes are fine. The rack itself attaches to the bike with straps, so the bike material doesn't matter.

I have personally seen it take windy roads at 60+ mph. I'll have to check with my brother to see if it has handled any overly bumpy roads
