I liked Korg,but In The Shadows was the same joke stretched to a whole film,where it wore thin.As 1 char in a larger film it worked better.

Discovery might be a better space-themed drama though.
Good sci-fi asks questions and explores the societal impact of technological changes,which is exactly what The Orville (+earlier Treks) do.
