The protest where I live (southern California) was over 1/3 hispanic. Seemed mostly demographically representative here. Wonder if regional differences played a part. Also, most of the people honking and cheering from cars were hispanic

I get the point you are making, but this is also leaving out the super far right ideologies out there. In reality, most of our politicians are on the right, but the vast majority aren't as far right as say ISIS, Al Qaeda, the most stringent anti gay politicians in Russia, FLDS in the US, etc. As bad as the political right is in the US and many other places in the west, it can get worse. Much worse. Which is why the right must be challenged each and every time they try to take away rights.
