You say this, but it would probably be a very good idea. We've added 'useless' things to help the human experience. For sound.. there's been vacuum cleaners that didn't sell because they didn't have the 'sound' of picking stuff up, so that's something intentionally planned. A number of electric cars pump in artificial engine sounds to help drivers not over accelerating, etc.
