A lesser known state called ’Sweden’!

The zoning plan had no provision for roof incline. The client wanted a pulpit roof, which necessitated a low incline.

Location, clients wishes and suggested style. The engineers then review the plans and suggest changes. Back and forth until no one is happy.

In this case, I have a little advantage since I have a masters in engineering, but normally the architect presents a draft based on (1/2)

As the architect I retain the rights to publish and display all of my images and photos unless the client purchases that right.

PS: Look at the roof of the sauna. I added the obligatory lost soccerball. ;)

In the main I support good zoning, it provides a lot of needed order. In this case it was complicated to adapt to, but I like a challenge.

In this case I assume it is to limit how much of the lake view the new buildings will obstruct.

Either a heating system or just plain ol’ shoveling!

I was thinking a Paroc panel system, but it might be unusual, you’re right!

You can see it to the left side in the second picture; it has a reverse incline compared to the main building to allow solar panels!

Actually a lot of snow! I mentioned that in one of the images; the owners will have to do regular snow removal.

I used three; ArchiCad for the plans, sketchup pro for some simple detailing (corniches and some of the furniture) and finally Lumion 11.

I could help you with the design, both some suggestions for free, or I could draw it up for you at a nice discount!

Where in Sweden? It’s beautiful here, I agree!

The final bill isn’t in yet, but I estimate the cost of the plot, construction and utilities at around 1,8 - 2 million USD.

Thank you! Just move to Sweden and I’ll design your house at a discount! :)

Thank you! I think I would have drawn the plans with thicker walls and bearing; it was sad to reduce the room sizes later!
