I’m an atheist myself, but even among most religious people, Greg Locke has always proven himself to be a particularly psychotic person. He’s obsessed with the idea that witches are hiding tarot cards and ouija boards in his church and has been pretty clear that he doesn’t want anyone who voted for Biden in his congregation. Definitely shouldn’t be tax-exempt (not sure if his church still even is at this point, but wouldn’t surprise me).

I guess I'm more used to being the poor son of a bitch that has to listen to people cuss me out for random shit than being on the line waiting to speak to someone, but your perspective sounds perfectly reasonable too.
It's a relatively harmless lie told by every automated system to try to get the callers not to be verbally abusive to the phone agents for something that, at the end of the day, isn't the agents' fault, although it is the company's fault for not staffing enough people on the phones.

Maybe I have 2016 PTSD, but I don't know how anybody is out there feeling cocky about the upcoming elections. I don't trust polling data anymore, and I've also felt this general sense that the public sentiment has grown decidedly more conservative than it was just a few years ago.
Politicians are always more than happy to make criminal laws more punitive. Everyone hates drunk drivers, so they're an easy source of free political capital.
No one wants to believe that they're the fool. People don't let go of their beliefs over night. I've been working on my family for years, and the best I've been able to do is get them to be Mitt Romney-style Republicans. Your friend is stuck in an echo chamber, but, if you keep hanging out with him, you can at least be the one reasonable voice in his ear. But that's definitely not your job so if you don't feel like it's worth the effort, then I suppose it's time to just let things drift apart.
If it were simply that she didn't like ice cream, most of us would consider it reasonable to suggest an alternative rather than simply write the other person off as a complete loss simply because she didn't like the first suggestion.
