I don't think membership and allyship are mutually exclusive in this case, mostly because of the diversity within LGBTQAI+. Older gay family/friends convinced my parents my bi partner was just "going through a phase".

My in laws have adopted 8 special needs kiddos. The experience was very negative on my husband growing up and we said we would terminate a pregnancy if there were indications of severe impairment. His sister on the other hand works in disability services and wants to adopt special needs kiddos too.
There should be an online guide! The one for this set was 176 pages so understandable why they don't print it.
I will not fault people for going to/liking olive garden, but at $25 a plate min almost every independent restaurant here is better and cheaper.
