It was kinda genius pairing teen groot with someone as powerful as Thor. He needed that boost in my opinion.
I think it was more of Thanos underestimating what was thrown at him. So he retaliated with a general energy beam. Same hw 90% of his power/
That's what I thought. I thought Thor basically went to him and said "You know that gauntlet you made? I need a better one but it's an axe."
After Ragnarok I've just loved him more and more. I really hope he isn't due to be finished off anytime soon.
I thought the whole point was that Stormbreaker was designed to withstand Thanos/The Gauntlet. Hence the "gonna make a Thanos kiling weapon"

Honestly, just after Thanos he's the other character who made this film with that end bit. As soon as he arrived everyone bad was fucked.
