No.
Apparently the 'other test' was the fact that she is a genetic male. At least that is what mainstream news source state in my country today. That fact certainly does offer up some moral and biochemical issues in terms of athletic categorization
Soo, the doping test version of "You wouldn't know her, she goes to a different school!"? Seems odd since it would be such an easy thing to address with empirical data. Thanks for the elaboration.
Of course, it is correct that if endogenous then this hightened testosterone level is indeed a "genetic advantage", but proving that is the case very hard, and injecting testosterone is very easy. Moreso, we're probably not far away from being able to manipulate hormone levels at a genetic level. So, given how much of an advantage testosteron is in matters of strength, does a hard boundary not make athletic sense? Testosteron-level might matter more than weight-class in some regards...
Admitted, I've not paid much attention to the Olympics, but isnt this discrepancy down to [some boxing regulatory body] not allowing two biological women to compete in their tournaments because their level of testosterone exceeds the allowed limits? I.e., the same case as with other forms of performance enhancement. I assume the limit is placed based on some statistical maxima which means being above that maxima is indicative of artificially increased levels of testosterone.
Well, is the existence of genetic diseases relating to sex chromosomes really a useful argument for wanting to change gender? Nor is there a single mammal that changes its sex... You wanna change your gender go right ahead, but as a molecular biologist and philosopher of biology, it gets so tiring with these ridiculous arguments. There's no logical connection between animals that can genetically change sex based on environmental cues, and humans who needs supplements and surgeries
Those are a lot duller than I thought. He was pressing fairly hard it seems.. Blades of Glory decieved me
#1 Why does this look so babylonian??
Idk man, summer holiday in Denmark came about cause people had to pick crops. It was never really free time, just time off school to go work the farms. The concept of free time is very modern, though Im sure qua the ignorance life was a much different flavour of stress 70 years ago.
