That kind of AI will never rule the world, because it's not actually what we mean when we talk about fictive AI overlords. That's just iterative learning. Which is a distant precursor to SFF AI at best.

You know what's not healthy and childish? Going behind your friends backs because they "shouldn't be up in your business"

2 inches of reach? Yes. Two inches of height? Not *nearly* as much.

As a rapier fencer (a scrub, mind you), 2 inches ain't that much. It ain't nothing. But not much. Also height and reach are not always really proportional at that amount of difference. Over other Japanese samurai, likely to be a pretty decent advantage.

that's what we're talking about when assimilation is used in this context, not absorbing another culture and erasing it. And if 500 years 1)

We're not talking about cultural assimilation, we're talking about people coming to other countries and actually trying to live there 1)

learning the language, engaging with the local culture, coming to belong in the nation you're in rather than being a permanent foreigner

I disagree. If you're going to put down roots and live in another nation/culture, staying insular to only members of your culture leads 1)

sending them off to war so they come back as Romans instead of as whatever they were before. It worked incredibly well.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A. That's not what assimilation is. B. Rome is literally a textbook example of explicitly tearing people away from their own culture and 1)

That's... Kind of fair. But there's no believable way to make a Space Marine not a badass.

I mean they are inarguably badass. Why not both?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I mean, have we seen or heard anything like that? People with principles exist amigo.

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 13

You realize that's not a right? You literally do not have the right to buy whatever you want. It doesn't exist.
