You now know their age, and year of birth. You can also extrapolate a little from what they don't know; "can't swim", likely means they grew up inland, where it wasn't needed to learn, compared to someone growing up near the coast with beaches for example.
I totally read "pterodactyl", and I could see the cartoon "smacked into a rock" outline of one as soon as I read that, took me more passes than I would like to admit before I saw the drawings...

I'm going to go with cultural differences on that, it's not common to do anything other than at home parties in Norway, but yes, it's dumb.
