Bombs that were accelerated with artificial gravity in order to "fall" onto the enemy.

But instead of making an artificial gravity chamber that "launches" them, they made it so they had to hover above the target. The entire premise of Last Jedi is set up like a WW2 naval chase with old school bomber planes. Not a sci-fi one.

If hyperdrive engines were incredibly rare, it would've made more sense. But even small ships have them, so you could just build them into small drone ships.

Or the tunnel system with a hatch right underneath him, that then got paved over immediately after.

This is a really condescending and sexist way of saying "just talk with your partner because they might not be thinking exactly the same thing as you".

I thought the acting in Cowboy Bebop was alright. They also really tried to do some stylish anime style stuff. IMO, it was mostly held down by looking like they were using someone else's Sci Fi set.

For contrast, the One Piece live action seems to pull off the impossible here.

I am curious. Cowboy Bebop live action failed, will Firefly work as an animation.

Just as a reminder, he didn't leave without bloodshed last time. He incited an insurrection that got several people killed.

I remember seeing those pictures of people posing with guns and bibles, and then the comparison image of Al Qaeda doing the same.

This may be my European showing. But most of the Democrats I see from this side all seem center right. While obviously a far removed from the far right MAGA cult, they are still pretty conservative.

I don't even want all these actors to look dehydrated at all. Why can't they just look in shape. It's such a dumb beauty standard.

My memory of high school was that bullies never got any repercussions, but the kids that bit back did.

I wouldn't say perfected, as everyone looks right through it. But good enough that she doesn't say things she's not supposed to.

You overestimate tech enthusiasts. Do you realize how many people just execute random meme code on their computer with with admin rights for the funny.

People are running local agents with all kinds of elevated permissions using random Agent Skills or MCP servers they found online. Having them run a AI social media is basically like moths to a flame in this case.

Somebody vibe coded an agent-only social media because they thought it was funny.

Trust me, of all the things developers have created for that reason, this is the least creative one. Creating a social media is one of those early project you do to get into it. You basically go from Hello World, to To-do app, and then Twitter clone.

There is platonic flirting, which is something you can do with close friends. A sales person flirting to close a deal. Some people flirt for the sake of flirting, with no further intention

The difference between flirting and "hitting on" for me would be that flirting is casual, it can even happen unknowingly by both people. And then be told by a friend that you were flirty.

Whereas hitting on someone is an overt action, with clear intention.

Niantic got into gaming in order to gamify geo data collection...

Niantic hasn't been owned by Google since 2015. But rest assured, a Saudi investment firm bought them in 2025. They'll be very ethical with your data.

For "experienced" drivers we only have a point system for DUIs. Beginners do get points for speeding, tailgating, and accidents. Which is within the first 5-7 years of having the license (depends on what age you got your license).

Sure, that's the actual gameplay part of it. I just mean that replacing a game and slapping a number after it didn't make it a sequel. It was just pointless marketing for a codebase overhaul.

In the Netherlands I've heard people call speeding tickets "hardrijbelasting", which translates to "speeding tax". Which is usually said by people that have enough money to not care about the fines. And are fine paying them as long as they can act like we have the Autobahn as well.

"Blizzard/Activision/Microsoft decided that Overwatch is more than number, but a brand"

I dislike the whole ActiBlizSoft monolith, but they are kinda right on this. It is a brand. And adding the 2 really was nothing more than marketing for an overhaul update, as it just replaced the original game. Same thing with CounterStrike 2.
