I liked Apothecary Dairies, but it's not a top watch for me. Maybe a read since it's based on a light novel, I think?Oddly enough...I do tend to like female writers. Dorohedoro and Full Metal Alchemist are top shelf examples. However, I wouldn't judge media based on the writer's gender. Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys, Monster, and Pluto are all amazing.
While I agree that most newer anime I can't stomach, every now and then there's a show/manga worth reading/watching. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Delicious in Dungeon are currently my top two anime/manga.
