6) I hate it because people are individuals & I won't value a person's experience over another purely based on the color of their skin. End
5) the bar has to be lowered for them because they're darker. It's a "oh you poor thing" concept.
4) The concept of WP is condescending and racist. It holds whites to a higher standard and assumes non-whites can't reach that standard so
3) Whites who believe they have WP feel guilt and assume non-whites are "less fortunate" simply based on outer appearance
2) Those who believe in it look down on PoC and them that they can't get anywhere because of WP holding them back
1) Not what I said. Whites don't use WP, WP is what gets blamed for PoC's shortcomings. It holds whites to a higher standard than non-whites
You do realize how condescending that is towards non-whites, right? Treat people as individuals, don't collectivize them by race.
Racism exists. The very concept of WP is racist towards non-whites because it's known as "the soft bigotry of low expectations"
Then it's not systemic. My issue is that there's no clear definition for what WP is or what systemic racism is or what they even do.
Systemic racism isn't a definitive term. It doesn't mean anything without actual laws to point to that show discrimination based on race.
This resume thing got debunked cuz names are misleading. It's not controlled and it's not significant enough to prove WP as a fact.
Why? You're admitting it's just a "Oh shit look! I'm white! Welp, time to go about my day like normal, glad I noticed it though!"
You can't prove that, that's just another anecdotal strawman.
Ok, then what purpose does it serve other than to cause racial tension?
No, all WP does is showcase the soft bigotry of low expectations. It inflames racial tension, cuz it gives PoC a boogyman to blame.
FBI crime statistics don't favor whites. Police kill more whites. If you hire on merit, race is irrelevant. Hard to explain in 140 chars
Data where though? FBI statistics don't support it, hiring on merit doesn't support it. There's non-whites who dispute it. It's ideological
If it's systemic then why is every example of it anecdotal? Why are there non-whites who dispute it? Why is it purely ideology based?
The examples of white privilege are always anecdotal though. It's always used to describe individual's experiences as a collective, not law.
have* I'm apparently having difficulty spelling as well.
I now having breathing difficulties from laughing so hard at this comment.
Same. Dunno why but arm veins and back-of-hand veins give me the heeby-jeebies. This post makes me feel sick...
Could say the same for you :P
Who? Someone who has to point out the obvious to people who blame "society" for the reason why they *have* to do something. Like shave.
"Society" isn't a sentient being, it can't be insulting. Hating to shave could be a fault of your own too. Like doing it improperly
Ya. #18 "People" and "Patriarchy" as if it's a sentient being that even exists.
c) Dramatize something that's not even difficult to do regularly. If you're bleeding or getting ingrowns you're doing something wrong -_-
Me too (though not everyday) It's easy to keep trimmed the more regularly you do it.
How's her head in her ass? For some people it's easy to shave. She didn't say anything bad about people who don't shave daily.
Use a small, battery powered beard trimmer for your underarms. Shave it when you're out of the shower and dry, no cuts or burns if gentle
