Granted I totally understand why someone would be upset with Sarevok cause even without the Wards influence and throne of bhaal, I don't think Sarevok would be a servant to anyone despite how much he wants to live. His role in BG3 as well as his cohort is weird and feels like they all lack free will.
Viconia in BG3 feels divisive for BG2 players because the MC is the reason why her life changes course. The unfortunate reality is BG3 Viconia is what happens when there is no one to help her.
