Am I mistaken to believe that the original was made for camping? Like I remember seeing these, in the 90’s as a kid, with a pop-up top so you could sleep on the roof. (Only one side would pop-up so it was like a tent with a solid roof on the roof of the van. Am I hallucinating or was that a thing? And why wouldn’t VW do the same thing with this homage to something amazing from the past? If VW didn’t make a camping version I would definitely feel like they missed a great opportunity.
I was a small child in the 90’s my experience was pretty different.
I’m sure it happened more than once, you’d probably be very busy playing this morbid version of whack-a-mole for millions of years
If I had several hundred billion dollars I would definitely have my own 50 km particle accelerator and an institute or something with a bunch of scientists. I would of course have them teach me about whatever it is they’re trying to do and what they find in their experiments! I would also have telescopes in space… same thing.. scientists and they teach me about everything. That would be a much better use of that amount of money. I would also have a private jet too.
I didn’t watch but knowing that it was the longest SOTU did anyone just getup and leave? Like during a shitty movie at the theater? I’m sure some people must have.
Though I’m not defending her at all I must say that having an enforced bed time as an adult must be incredibly demeaning.

Of Middle-Earth’ so I can’t get into specifics. Basically, especially considering it took like 30 years for Tolkien to finish the trilogy, and spent his entire life perfecting The Silmarillion, basically everything in the story had been rewritten and repurposed many times… sorry I forgot what I was talking about, I just got very excited about talking about LOTR and the world building. 2/2
There is a lot of lore, for sure, especially if you really get drawn into it all, where you can read about the earlier drafts of the trilogy and the silmarrillion where pretty much every detail in the overall story was heavily scrutinized by Tolkien, in the multi-volume ‘History of Middle-Earth”. Basically you can confuse yourself because Tolkien would flipflop and change the origin stories of important items like the Palantirs’. It’s been a few years since I last read any part of “The History1/
I’m sure as soon as they completed it, they immediately had to go back to the other end and start heavily repairing it all.

Dude! This reminds me of health class in high school where we had to watch the video of a child-birth, and I’m pretty sure I was close to going into shock, or something. It did trigger a panic attack, or something, my body froze completely, I couldn’t even breath. Child birth is wild.

About a decade ago with a friend we took Amtrak from LA to Albuquerque and it was about $70 for a seat, but for a 18 hour overnight trip it was pretty miserable. Now I think I remember seeing that same seat for like $250
There’s a weird expectation when you are vocal about something like trying not to hate anyone, and that is that you shouldn’t be able to make exceptions. But in the real world there are genuinely terrible people that have proven over and over that they don’t deserve respect or empathy, this man is one of those people.

Oh really? Maybe it’s just in the US. Didn’t the pandemic I paid like $4,000 to go from Seattle to Albuquerque, in a sleeper. So that’s a huge price difference.
Train travel is something completely different, it’s too bad it’s outrageously priced in North America, that it’s more of a “luxury experience” than a viable/ affordable alternative to flying. And that there are only a handful of routes you can take.
I’m aware of the grudges but honestly I was a little worried just because how loud they were, and I was the only pedestrian I noticed in the area. Actually more I was worried that they were kind of warning me that I was too close or something, like the microphone on my iPhone wasn’t able to capture just how loud they were, if you can imagine thousands of crows screaming as loud as they could.
It does make you feel vulnerable and worry if they’re somehow angry at you.
Idk if the my phones camera was able to catch just how loud they were but when you have thousands of crows all screaming at the same time while they’re all flying in a circle that you just happen to be at the center of, it’s incredibly loud. I would say right up there with a jet engine. The noise and chaos of it all made me very anxious.
Yeah, it’s almost deafening
It was just wild how loud they could get especially when they start screaming in unison.
It’s Portland actually, I’ve seen them congregate in large groups in the nearby park, but this evening was exceptional, idk if the video was able to capture just how loud the are. Even with ANC headphones they were almost deafening.
I’ve seen them migrate like this many times, just this time is differentX they’ve never been this loud.
