"Resuscitate me like one of your French girls."
"I'm commin' in hot!" Was right there.
Heard to tell with all the banging...
Can't get to it. They poured the concrete right against the back. The second limestone basement under the original house doesn't connect.
Thanks for saying. It was relatively cheap for the area at under 100 a square foot, but the reno is gonna be rough. The front room looks like it was originally 2 parlors and they took out the wall at some point. The wall between two upstairs bedrooms has sagged. Getting the floor jacked up and reinforced next.
Near the Mississippi in the driftless area that the glaciers missed.
It's not directly in line with the long gone wood stove. I'm the picture from the back yard you can see the stairwell down to the basement under the addition (the wood siding). That staircase was behind me when I took the close-up of the cistern.
Some of the houses around here have "crevice crappers" where the waste drains into the old mine below.
Above it would have been a convenient location for an outhouse. Very well could be my very own poo vault...
I believe it was there and they built the basement around it.Could have been a kiln as it would have been below grade
A grindy thingy?
Thanks!he plan is to keep all the original windows, and install low-e ventilated storm windows.
This is In the midwestern U.S., a few miles from the Mississippi river, in the hilly part aka "The Driftless Area".
Sanding that first layer scares me a bit, but that's the tentative plan.
That's exactly what I'm worried about so not rushing into it. Local floor refinisher has been in many houses and stores in town and has never seen it. Doesn't want to touch it :)

Good suggestion, thanks. Looking at the stuff they use to seal boats that's applied with lambs wool but going to be sourcing opinions from pros. A circle frame would hide the transition, as I imagine the rest of the floor wouldn't have the same gloss.
Thanks, that's the plan. Posted here to send a link to them. Figured I would make it public in case anyone had questions about the restoration I'm doing on my new house built in the 1840s.
A couple notes:The national guard is actually a collection of state services where members swear to follow the governor. The Texas Guard is a separate state military from the Texas National Guard.Their existance is, in my opinion, what the 2nd amendment was actually for (as opposed to how it is used). Not saying the behavior isn't gross, just clarifying a couple things.
Nabbed the 32GB of DDR4 3000 for 300 a month or two ago on a hunch it wouldn't drop soon. Wish I were wrong.
Truth. Got lucky and happened to check EVGA's site 2 minutes after these came in stock. Shipping direct from them is brutal though.
2560x1536 @ 60Hz
They work for high performance 3D. They use USB for power but connect via DisplayPort.
Picture was to show how the portable monitors bring at least some value while at home.
I bought the small monitors hanging off the side to take with the Dan Case mini build. They are intended to mount to a laptop.
I went tonight and only spent $88!
Do you know which methods are used in common programs like MS Office (excel specifically)?
Does the back wall act as a bass trap? I have a 2 row setup with the back against the wall and it's too boomy for my wife with the sealed 15
*Usually beneficial. I'm way in the hole since I bought in 05. :(
