Amateurs. I'm a software developer in the US and I've been on strike for months now! Unemployed counts as on strike, right?

Don't close your heart off for too long to future pet dogs. They're amazing creatures and deserve an owner as loving and caring as you.

I assumed it was Kotlin, Go, and Rust. Python is Nintendo. Enduring and beloved; both new and nostalgic.

Bingo bango bongo! Slavs and Mediterraneans might be white but we're not as white as the WASPs.

Only if WASPs treat Italians with the respect they treat other WASPs

I went from NodeJS to Go. I love Go to death but if I could do it all again, I'd have stayed with Python for my first language.

Python is easy to learn, has a great community, lots of resources, and you can do a lot with it. "Cool kid" languages can wait.

Always glad to see this. The traditions I've been in (currently E. Orthodoxy) have pointed out we don't number it like the Jewish ppl

I'm high functioning autistic so YMMV

For me at least, using totalizing thinking about never slipping up or always being in control can feed the panic attacks and anxiety.

I guess it's no surprise it's often the monastics who aren't involved with daily life who are the brightest lights of Russian Orthodoxy

I am not defending Kirill, just giving context to why things can be so fucky for Orthodoxy in Russia

I'm Greek Orthodox. we're currently in schism with Kirill over Ukraine. The Russian state has a long history of controlling Orthodoxy there.

Between two bad options, one can be worse. And inaction is always an action. Choosing not to decide is still a choice.

If you think a personal decision is evil, there are often better ways of addressing it than making it illegal (alcoholism, drug abuse, etc.)

Prohibition didn't get rid of acoholism and related ills. It just added organized crime to the problem.

I mean if a giant picked you up, you'd pull any trick to make sure you weren't eaten.

Eastern Hognose. One of the most harmless creatures in America. They will poop and vomit if picked up.
