MD hasn't voted for a republican pres since 1980s and is 70-30 leaning democratic in pres elections. We do have republican governors but they are a watered down version of other states republicans.

Lol I left the party because of Pallin. Left the Dem after 2016 due to them not being progressive enough. Independent since voting Dem still

That was due to overwhelming support from the MA legislature and MR proposed a weaker plan and tried to veto parts that benefit poor people

Moved to PA from MD which is 70-30 democrat leaning. Never felt my vote mattered more to a Presidential race than this election.

That wouldn't allow parents to terminate for covenenice without notice. If not it would be a breach of contract not discrimination 2/2

State laws typically mirror title vii and also has a numerosity requirement. Also for nanny arrangements I doubt if there was a contract 1/2

Yes, from my understanding of employment law in regards to the op bringing a claim of discrimination in this situation.

Under discrimination laws. He'd be more of an independent contractor if maybe he was contracted under an agency or something like that. 2/2

Based on the post I'd say he'd probably be more likely an employee but the couple would not be classified as an "employer" 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You can for for any reason in this situation. The couple isn't classified as an "employer" under the law. Title vii wouldn't apply here

Yes, the couple isn't considered an "employer" under the law. You can pick whoever you want to work for you for this type of job.

A couple looking for a nanny isn't an "employer" which has a specific legal definition under the law. 2/2

Discrimination such as this can't be sued under title vii or any state statute I'm aware of. 1/2

Which turned the public against her and she lost her job and had to move due to death threats 2/2

The civil suit settled and Kobe admitted that it wasn't consensual and his defense team released false details about the rape 1/2

That is incorrect based on the jurisdiction of where this occurred, somewhere in the UK
