Crazy idea: stop suckling Uncle Sam's teat for your "funding", in turn saving the taxpayer, who can then fund your program independently.

My family had a beagle named Scooter when I was a kid. He too was a runner.

Fall turkey season is a different story and hens are legal to harvest.
In the Spring females are laying eggs and sitting on nests. Also why (in some states) hunting ends at 1pm each day. Reduces pressure on hens
And bearded hens, basically anything with a beard is fair game.
Spring Turkey Season is males only. Can't shoot hens like this girl. I've had hens within 10 yards before, but this is unique.
