Variation is always good. Seeing the same 'canned' death anims each time is kinda weird.
Can confirm Shadowrun uses a preposterous number of d6s. Especially any time a fully-automatic weapon is involved.
That or you'd just have someone snipe your crew one by one (since you're also out when combat ineffective, i.e. one crewman left).

Last time I cut him down, he immediately ran over a trigger plate for one of the swinging spike grids. Wasn't very swift after that.

GMG's listing states that FO4 requires Steam, so they'll give you a key when it's out. Steam has a refund system now. Do the math.
