Usually people keep their D&D dice in their own sets, it would be one uniform set of all the dice shape, other than aesthetics there's no real reason to do that unless you like to have your dice match your character (red/oranges for a fire based character). The way the child has sorted it (to me) seems like you could mix and match the dice from various sets

This, I could name most if not all the bridge crews in TOS/TNG/VOY/DS9, but Discovery? all I know is like Burnham, Saru and Tilly? no idea who the others really are
