This was going to be my suggestion. Terry Pratchett's style is similar to Douglas Adams, and I really enjoy both.

Personally I like chronological order. The world grows and progress, as do the people over time. Or just start with what the library has.

For the pledge of allegiance or national anthem. And yes it does, but we clearly ignore the rest of the stipulations too.
Technically 171 does say you should "...stand at attention facing the flag..." But I agree with the overall point.
Krypto and Ace are great, but Beppo and Comet (super monkey and horse) never get any love.
We did that with Golden Eye on the N64. Split screen was amazing.
Know what else is funny? Thinking the USA is a democracy instead of a republic. Pledge allegence... to the Republic for which it stands.
